I was just wondering if/when you guys fish on maps that have water (not talking about carib and amazon since they aren't standard maps)? And if you do fish, when do you fish. It seems to me that non-otto civs can't do it like aom/t where you start fishing from the beginning of discovery (or CAN you?). I find it hard to know if/when to add in fishing. Please share your thoughts on this  --------------------  |

It varies, if u fight for water (means u ship 2 boats) then u fish right away after u got water with ur battle boats. If u start nomal with raid then u wait till u built up ur buildings (rax or stable) and when u got enough wood to afford a dock u start fishing then. Fishing is a nice way to boost ur eco, but imo especially in the beginning its more important to get tps to gain extra xps for faster shipments. -------------------- Visit the MMC Homepage to find Replays (click ) of me and other MMC-Members vs other current Top Players.

On the map where one starts with extra resources, I always fishes if I can afford a dock + house + atleast one fishing boat the start. It helps. -------------------- [Former known as KoN_hrMeyer]

I usually do what starsky does, although I've built a dock in discovery once, I think, and it worked out ok --------------------  Two muffins are in an oven. One says, "Wow, it's hot in here..." The other says, "HOLY **** A TALKING MUFFIN!" |

I posted a game where I rushed against a guy who used his extra wood on carolina to get a dock up in discovery. He actually had a decent Colonial time 5:15 or so. My Russian forward blockhouse and rush sort of countered his boom, but if I'd been a less aggressive civ I think it would have worked for him. |

it's also a great map for getting rushed on, thus making early fishing a bit risky imo -------------------- |

As Ottoman you can fish from the start, it actually helps you get a decent eco, not that you need one for long  As other civs, at 8:00 mins would probably be the time to start fishing, once you have a clear idea of what your opponent is trying. |
