NEW Fan Patch 1.2 released! Click link below for more details. -------------------------------------- ![]() It is finally here - the long-awaited TAD Fan Patch 1.1 from AgeSanctuary! This patch includes new features, improved balance, and plenty of bug fixes. Unlike the previous patch we released, this patch had two teams balancing; one for 1v1, and one for team games. We hope this will make for a more enjoyable experience for more formats of gaming. The patching process is still ongoing - we will be providing further adjustments to gameplay in the next patch. ----- Useful Links ----- To celebrate and promote the launch of TAD Fan Patch 1.1, we are hosting the 2v2 Fan Patch Cup. It has by far the largest prize pool of any AgeSanctuary tournament ever hosted, with a massive $2,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. Click here for more details. ---------------------------------------------- This patch represents over 3 months' work from a dedicated volunteer team who have graciously offered their time and skills to help put this patch together. Those who helped out with balance testing are: Airlity, Braidon, clare, SkWzZ_DAMNIT, _DK, Challe, Flooky, kokimaro, SkWzZ_Luigi, matsujun, Mayh3M, NanoX, nemuke, Oedy, Samwise12, sasuke_, shmras, Ourk, takuman, TheGroovyGuy, tokotoko, tombo_, twilight317, Velc, and xylitol. Those who helped out in other roles include: Seraphim (file editing), MNBob (patch launcher implementation), RF_Gandalf (map design), Walker_5 (bug fixing), as well as Peachrocks (balance input), and finally myself, [NerVe]_VipeR_, as project leader. Thanks also to those who helped out with translating the patch notes and stringtable files. Thanks also go to those generous donors who contributed the prizes for the 2v2 Fan Patch Cup: Vengeful Vendetta Clan, matsujun, and tvurt. -------------------- |

Download Instructions Unlike the last patch, we have split the install for Fan Patch 1.1 into separate elements; the patch launcher itself, and the fan patch files. Please follow the instructions that are applicable to your required installation. If you need help choosing which option is applicable to you, please make a reply to this post and we'll help you out. Part 1 - The Patch Launcher In early March we released an updated version of the patch launcher. For those who did not download it then, we recommend you do so now. If you have never installed the Fan Patch 1.0, you will need to install this patch launcher first regardless. If you already have version 17 of the patch launcher (how to check what version you have), you can skip this step. Instructions if you currently have the "AS Patch Launcher" installed
TAD Patch Launcher v.17 (can be uninstalled via "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel)
Part 2 - The Patch Files Once you have an updated patch launcher, you can then install the Fan Patch 1.1 files.
Never installed Fan Patch 1.0? Before you install any of the above components, you will need Microsoft .NET Framework for the patch launcher to run. The latest version of .NET Framework is 3.5, but to be on the safe side I have linked below to older versions (2.0) for people who may have compatibility issues. .NET Framework 2.0 x86: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en .NET Framework 2.0 x64: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en -------------------- |

Why a fan patch? And why should I download it? We developed this fan patch because of the fact that Ensemble Studios closed down in February 2009, and their successors Robot Entertainment haven't made any move yet to develop a patch. Without any fan patch, we'd be left with the game as it is, permanently. Japan and India would perpetually be too strong, bugs will go unchecked, and the community will suffer as a result. That is why it is important for everyone to download this patch - ensuring that the community continues to enjoy the Asian Dynasties for the future. I logged onto ESO and saw CRC Mismatch for heaps of games! The fan patch is only playable with people who also have the fan patch. You can only play against people who also have Fan Patch 1.1, so if you see someone with Fan Patch 1.0, tell them to upgrade! Yes, the number of games with the fan patch may be sparse to begin with. However, with your help we can help promote the use of the fan patch, and in so doing bring more of the community over to a more balanced and enjoyable game. If you can't find a game on the fan patch, then no problem. Close the game, then bring up the patch launcher and switch back to the 1.01a patch. You can switch between the patches as much as you like, so you will always be able to get a game. How can I help spread word of the patch? We greatly appreciate any assistance in promoting the patch. The success of this patch will be measured by how many people start using it, so the more the merrier! If you want to help us out by promoting it on your own clan forums, to your mates on MSN, or on ESO itself, then that would be great.

Fan Patch 1.1 Notes These notes are correct as of the time of this post. If you wish to see the changes we implemented in the prior patch, then check the Fan Patch 1.0 notes. MAP CHANGES New Maps All new maps are playable in rated ![]() Dakota Badlands is a map with a central arid valley, and features different seasonal terrain. Players are encouraged to gain control of the center of the map to utilise choke points and the bountiful resources in the valley. This map won Ensemble RMS design competition some time ago. ![]() Gold Rush takes much of its' design concept from the same map that was present in Age of Empires 2. Each player starts with a limited gold supply, and this forces them to rush as it were for the treasure trove of mines located centrally. ![]() Korea sees players begin close together on the Korean peninsula, located along the sides. Fishing is plentiful, but you have to pay close attention to land warfare seeing as you start so close together. ![]() New Unknown is not technically a new map - Unknown was present in TWC, but Ensemble never updated it for TAD. Considering the numerous changes to this map, we are treating it as a new map. It has TAD natives, TAD terrain skins, new terrain formations, better resource balance, a fixed water flag bug, and more variability in map size. ![]() Prairie Rivers is a map designed for treaty gameplay. It is a rather diverse map - although there is always just the 2 rivers, there can be anything from 1 to 4 crossings on each river. In addition, the terrain varies widely, so it should always be a visual delight playing on this map. ![]() Shangri La sees players begin in a barren patch of plateau, and are separated from a valley by a sheer mountain range that can be traversed through a number of mountain passes. Resources on the plateau are scarce, but the valley is packed with plenty of resources. New Regicide Maps
New Map Sets ![]() Unique Maps: Unique Maps is a new map set for those who like playing on vastly different and challenging maps every game. Every map requires a different approach to gameplay, especially some of the new maps such as Gold Rush and Shangri La. This map set includes the following maps:
![]() Regicide Maps: Ensemble promised that regicide would be a new game type in TAD - and the assumption was that we'd be able to play regicide on any map. However, all we got was a regicide version of Honshu, and as such we have put together a number of new regicide maps to be placed in a new map set, Regicide Maps. This map set includes the following maps:
Units
Aztecs

QUOTE(mlgiants91 @ Mar 29 2009, 01:41 PM) still no reduction for cuir health? not even a little one? will the added .8 multiplier vs ranged cav really fix their unbeatable-ness? i hope so... Cuirs upgrade off base stats now, so they have less hitpoints and attack in industrial and imperial. -------------------- |
