RTS-SANCTUARY FAN PATCH 1.2a for Mac


Fan Patch 1.2a Changes:
General Changes

• Macsoft update 1.0.5 for Age of Empires III installs with patch.
• Macsoft update 1.0.3 for Age of Empires III - The Warchiefs installs with patch.
• Macsoft update 1.0.1 for Age of Empires III - The Asian Dynasties installs with patch.
• RTS-Sanctuary Fan Patch 1.2 for Age of Empires III - The Asian Dynasties installs with patch.
• Age of Empires III - The Warchiefs expansion is no longer required to install Fan Patch 1.2a.
• GameRanger now displays the correct patch you're currently using; "FP 1.2a".
• Numerous string files fixed that were misspelled, worded incorrectly, or didn't display correctly have been fixed.
• Removed "Unit Tactics" from keyboard hotkey groups as this resulted in exploitation of the explorer revive glitch. Countless testing showed all tactics caused the glitch. Unit tactics can still be used on the user interface buttons, but the keyboard hotkey functions have been entirely disabled, and imbedded into the game.
• Advanced Hotkey Editor to encourage and simplify hotkey organization. (To install place "DefaultKeyMapY.xml.xmb" from Age of Empires III/Contents/Resources/GameData/data folder.) (Warning: Some hotkeys will conflict, or reset to default)
• Age of Empires III - The Asian Dynasties gets a new game icon. Enjoy, FP 1.2a installed correctly!

.. you can now upload files into the replay system

The files will be set as 'TAD Mac' on the initial processing until I sort out version identifiers but you have the option of selecting TAD Mac FP 1.2 or TAD Mac FP 1.2a before posting the game

English hotkey fixes. Just reinstall the english patch, it will not cause version mismatches, just updates a few of the conflicts. If you've already adjusted your hotkeys to your liking, no need to install.

German and French Beta uploaded. I believe I found the problem with the first installer. It had a file it wasn't installing due to a small typo. Not 100% sure if it will be a success, but need one of you 30 or so German players, while there are 2 French players, to be willing to test on a naked copy of AOE3, TWC, and TAD. Be sure to back up all 3 games contents folders prior to testing.

Hey, I have a question about this patch

I downloaded and installed FP 1.2a and everything went fine, the installation was successful (I checked "get info" on TAD in my applications folder and fp 1.2a was listed as the version and the icon was changed). However, since the installation, whenever I try to launch TAD the game freezes while loading every time. Vanilla and TWC still launch fine.

Do you have any idea what my problem might be?

1. What language patch did you install? German/French installers are a pain for me to make and test as there are so few people with any knowledge to help me test them. So if you installed a non-English patch please message me privately on GameRanger or here.

2. When you installed the patch did you make sure all 3 games were in your Applications folder?

3. Did you try running the fan patch installer a second time through? Your machine may have had a "lapse", and skipped a file if you had too many programs running.

4. Did you install TAD from a CD? Macs have terrible disc drives and it's possible you may just have to reinstall TAD to insure all the files are installed properly.

5. Are any of your games from torrents? If that's the case you are entirely on your own.

@zatuzata I didn't get any error messages

@iCourt to answer your questions:
1: I installed the English patch
2: All 3 games were in my applications folder
3: I ran the installer again but that didn't fix it
4: I installed TAD from a CD
5: None of the games are from torrents

Does it sound like reinstalling TAD might be the only option?

At this point, I would give that a try. Shouldn't take too long and will probably fix the problem.

It's possible it's your disc drive, I'd do a reinstall of TAD, as I said Macs have horrible disc drives, as they are in the process of phasing them out. It's most likely your TAD disc "skipped" a file upon installing. If worse comes to worse and the problem persists, please PM me.

Alright I'll reinstall TAD and try installing the patch again... if that doesn't work then yeah I'll PM you iCourt
